This is probably not going to happen, but I think if I set a really high goal for myself, it might happen. If I could save up enough money to go to an 11th anniversary concert in Japan, it would be AMAZING.
I watched the 2009-2010 Johnny's Countdown. It was really cute Am I the only person who thought the rendition of One Love that Kanjani8 did was ear-bleeding-ly off key? And they were also off a beat. I can officially say that I'm not impressed  But the KJ8 rendition that Arashi did was really cute lol

What an interesting year it was.
I did and saw way more than I ever thought I would.
Biggest accomplishment for me - exploring and experiencing Japan. Loving it. Hating it. Making wonderful friends. I experienced things that I'd never experienced or thought I would experience before in my life.
+ Lived through 3 earthquakes
+ Saw a solar eclipse
+ Wore a yukata
+ Rode the shinkansen (so freaking awesome  )
+ Saw Tohoshinki
+ ARASHI CONCERT 5 FREAKING ROWS AWAY FROM THE FRONT
+ Went to a matsuri
+ Explored Nagoya
+ Ate crepes
+ Went to Tokyo Disney & Sea
+ Went to Tokyo!
+ Visited Johnny's Shop 6 times 
+ Addiction to Book Off
+ Addiction to Kiatenzushi (curse you discount sushi!!)
+ Traveled and saw Ise Shrines, the ocean, Nara, many many many many other places
+ Climbed mountains, saw 1,500 year old trees and temples
+ Saw Mount Fuji
+ Went to Odaiba -- SAW VS ARASHI TENT AND VS ARASHI COIN TOWER PUCKS (I have pics I never shared them sorry  ) and saw giant gundam
+ Stayed at a ryokan
....etc. etc. etc. etc. I don't think this list will ever end.
2009 was a rollercoaster, to say the least. I'm looking forward to 2010 although it's through some pretty terrified eyes. There's going to be a big change in my life, whether I like it or not.
I've also accepted a translators position at ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) ao_no_michi. I'll still be posting up small little projects here possibly, and most definitely will be continuing to post magazine articles here, so if you have any requests please let me know
With all that aside... I'd like to share something amusing.

Right now I'm not sure how I feel about snowflakes though, because we are supposed to get a record 16 inches of snow overnight. STOOOOOOOOOP.. pleeeaseee

Omg an actual post from me!
So.. I was watching an episode of Mago Mago Arashi recently, and Ohno and Aiba had a katsu battle. Me being a vegetarian, I've honestly never had katsudon before, but it looked SO good, and I just wanted to try it so bad..
With that said... yesterday, Lotion and I decided to make our own concoction of it! I looked up a Japanese recipe of it, and then we just kind of tweaked it and worked around it. We used fake fried chicken patties instead of the katsu, and vegetable broth instead of dashi.
If you're interested, I wrote up a recipe for it. 8D

| Okay I realize that I haven't really been posting in here as a person journal as of late. I just find that doing these translations gives me something to do -- something useful.. Sorry to my f-list in advance
Lotion and I made a vegetarian version of katsudon today. We kind of just made it up as we went, but it turned out pretty good! *high fives self* Honestly, I was watching MMA recently, and Ohno and Aiba had a don battle. Ohno made oyakodon and Aiba made katsudon. Looking at it made me so hungry for it... so that's where that came from
Well, anyway.. I bring Ohno's part of the Potato interview I've been working on.

I'm not sure if this has been subbed yet, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The short news clips are good practice for me, and at the moment I don't have the time to do whole episodes of anything, sorry!
Now I need to figure out why whenever I encode anything it comes out in really bad quality

Also, question to the subbers on my f-list: What program do you use to sub? I am using SubtitleWorkshop, but I'm kind of sad about the lack of special stuff I can do with the subtitles. How do you make it look so nice? ; I'm assuming it's a different program.
